Geneva (Switzerland): Businesses could create 39.5 crore jobs and tap into a $10.1 trillion business opportunity by 2030, a new study from the World Economic Forum (WEF) said.
The 'Future of Nature and Business Report' said that businesses could look at 'nature-positive' solutions to create as many as 39.5 crore jobs by 2030.
The report said focusing on industry actions that are 'nature-positive,' meaning that they could add value to nature, could help businesses to tap into a $10.1 trillion business opportunity.
WEF said that governments and businesses across the globe could look at nature-positive outcomes as they look to stimulate growth in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We can address the looming bio-diversity crisis and reset the economy in a way that creates and protects millions of jobs," Akanksha Khatri, Head of the Nature Action Agenda, World Economic Forum was quoted by an official release.
"Public calls are getting louder for businesses and government to do better. We can protect our food supplies, make better use of our infrastructure and tap into new energy sources by transitioning to nature-positive solutions," Khatri added.
