Brussels:Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettle mocked UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson during a press conference .
After having a peaceful meeting with Luxembourg's PM, Johnson cancelled the joint press conference with PM Xavier Bettle over the display of European fury. UK PM had to face the mass who not only booed but also denounced his plan of pulling the UK out of the European Union on October 31 with or without a deal.
During the conference, Bettle said, "For me, I just have one Withdrawal Agreement on the table and it's the one from last year."
He added: "There are no changes. There are no concrete proposals for the moment on the table. And I won't give an agreement to ideas. We need written proposals and the time is ticking."
Luxembourg PM mocks Johnson over his absence at presser Bettel urged Johnson to 'stop speaking and act,' said the UK and European citizens needed clarity on their future. "Your people, our people count on you. But the clock is ticking, use your time wisely," he cautioned.
Bettel also said an extension to the Brexit deadline hinged on specific proposals, stressing 'we will not grant another extension just for the sake of granting another extension'.
Meanwhile, Johnson defended himself saying that there was too much noise from the protesters for which he didn't speak alongside PM Bettle.
European Union leaders are very sensitive about the Brexit due to Johnson's groundwork which blames them for the failure of Brexit.
Johnson's Downing St. office said, "The leaders agreed that the discussions needed to intensify and that meetings would soon take place daily," with EU chief negotiator Michel Barnier and UK Brexit Secretary Steve Barclay getting involved in the talks.
The European Commission, however, said that Britain had yet to offer any 'legally operational' solutions to the problem of keeping goods and people flowing freely across the Irish border, the main roadblock to a deal.
