Madrid: The UN Climate Change Conference COP25 presidency stressed their determination to reach an agreement on Saturday as the talks over combating the climate crisis dragged on in Madrid beyond the official deadline.
"The vast majority of delegations are asking for a more ambitious text, and that's what we are aiming at", said Andres Landerretche, Coordinator of COP25 Presidency, in view of the wide-ranging concerns the delegations had this morning.
The presidency is not expecting a suspension of the talks.
"We expect that delegations, at the end of the day, will compromise certain aspects, and at the end of the day, we will be able to provide a text that accommodates most of the concerns, and then we can move forward," Landerretche added.
