Climate change activists disrupted the rail and road networks across central London asking government to tackle environmental challenges. UK police have said more than 250 people have been arrested in connection with the protest.

London: Climate change protesters urged action to tackle environmental challenges as they continued to disrupt rail and road networks across central London on Wednesday.

Protesters set up camps on roads, stopped trains from running and blocked bridges in the UK capital as part of a week-long demonstration by the Extinction Rebellion group.

UK police have said more than 250 people have been arrested in connection with the protest.

Protester Jill Lewis said she had joined the protest for future generations "whose lives are going to be devastated by climate change".
