London: Amid the mounting Gulf crisis, British Airways has suspended its flights to the Egyptian capital Cairo for a week for unspecified reasons related to safety.
The airline on Saturday said in a statement, "The safety and security of our customers and crew is always our priority, and we would never operate an aircraft unless it was safe to do so."
British Airways attributed its cancellations to what it called its constant review of security arrangements at all airports, calling them "a precaution to allow for further assessment".
