Brexit deal is still terrible for Britain: Corbyn

The bill is expected to pass comfortably as Johnson's Conservative party now has a commanding majority following last week's election.

London: UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson hailed a new chapter in the national story as he prepared to present his Brexit withdrawal bill to Parliament on Friday.

Johnson said history would record the moment the legislation was approved, triggering what he asserted would be oceans of opportunity for the UK to prosper outside the European Union.

The bill is expected to pass comfortably as Johnson's Conservative party now has a commanding majority following last week's election.

But opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn said the withdrawal agreement was a terrible deal for Britain.

And Scottish National Party lawmaker Ian Blackford said Scotland utterly rejects Brexit and would not be dragged out of the EU without the consent of its devolved legislature.
