Brussels: The European Union chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier said on Thursday that the EU and Britain had agreed on an outline Brexit deal which still needs to be backed by EU member states and by the respective parliaments.
Barnier said the revised withdrawal agreement answers the questions that the issue of Ireland had raised.
Speaking at a press conference, he said, throughout these negotiations, the EU and UK were fully committed to protect peace and stability on the island of Ireland. Discussions over the past days have at times been difficult, but have delivered and we have delivered together.
