Baby elephant explores enclosure at Cologne Zoo

The elephant cow named 'Leev Ma Rie' was born on June 17. She is in good health and already weighs 100 kilograms.

Cologne:A newborn elephant at the Cologne Zoo was named "Leev Ma Rie" (Dear Ma Rie) on Friday.

The name is derived from the carnival hit "Leev Marie" (Dear Marie), a song composed by a local band.

The elephant cow was born last week on June 17.

She is in good health and already weighs 100 kilograms, according to the zoo.

The Cologne Zoo has a total of 14 elephants in its enclosure.
