Venice: At least four people were injured after a cruise liner rammed into a dock in Venice's Giudecca canal on Sunday.
As per the reports, the vessel was identified as MSC Opera. The ship reportedly lost control, leading to this incident.
The collision happened about 8.30 am (0630 GMT) Sunday on the Giudecca Canal, a major thoroughfare that leads to Saint Mark's Square in the northeastern Italian city.
4 injured after cruise liner rams into Venice dock When the incident occurred the hull of the 275-meter-long ship got damaged. Videos posted by social media users show that the ship blared its horns to warn bystanders as it ploughed into the dock.
The cruise ship's owner, MSC Cruises, said that the ship, the MSC Opera, was about to dock at a passenger terminal in Venice but due to some technical glitches it lost its control.
The vessel was built in 2004 and had the capacity to carry 2,679 passengers.
