Beijing: Showing major technological evolution, World Robot Conference presented various robots in the Chinese capital Beijing that can play, manufacture and handle cargo.
Over 650 companies participated in the event showing off their very latest bots. The event began on Tuesday and would conclude on August 25.
World Robot Conference in Beijing Organisers are expecting more than 800,000 visitors to the conference in the upcoming days, all desiring a peek at China's latest efforts at developing home-made smart applications to break its dependence on foreign technology.Robots are built to entertain kids, encourage exercise and some for pure companionship.C-Exoskeleton Technology research displayed exoskeleton products that can transport a heavy object from a low to a high, or from the left to the right, to give people strength, while at the same time it minimizes muscle damage. The exoskeleton is a wearable mobile machine that is powered by a system of electric motors, pneumatics, levers, hydraulics, or a combination of technologies that allow for limb movement with increased strength and endurance. For avenger lovers, Iron Man-themed robots were also shown in the event.Chinese Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALVT) came with a new concept of cloud robot, where all robots are connected to cloud which adds a smart brain to the robots. Through the brain, robots can be controlled so that they can cooperate and do human-computer interaction.CALVT exhibited a robot that is used in the radiation environment as nuclear industry testing as its arm is only 10 cm in diameter and can be inserted into a small space where the human arm cannot reach. After attaching some gear to the head of the arm, it expands its scope of application and can test or fix things.Presenting an animal theme, the Germany-based automation multinational FESTO displayed robots built like a jellyfish and a fascinating Smart bird winged robot to showcase how solutions to technological problems might be found in nature. The 94-year old company has been showing its products at the conference for the last four years bringing robot kangaroos, dragonflies, insects, flying foxes, and butterflies.
