Changhua County: Taiwan's air force demonstrated its tactical abilities Tuesday, landing four war planes, assault helicopters and a cardinal drone on a normally busy highway.
The exercise in Changhua County in central Taiwan was a simulation of the military's response to a Chinese attack on its airfields.
Military vehicles drove along the Changhua highway to repel birds with ultrasonic devices before a series of helicopters and fighter jets - including a French Mirage 2000, a US-made F-16V, a Taiwan-made IDF and a US-made E-2K airborne early warning aircraft - landed and took off from the road.
President Tsai Ing-wen donned a military uniform and addressed the soldiers while inspecting the drill.
