Beijing: The attempts to smear China over the epidemic of COVID-19 will never succeed, said a spokesperson of China's top political advisory body.
Guo Weimin, a spokesperson for the national committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) said at a press conference on Wednesday that some politicians from several countries are trying to distract the public attention or to shift the responsibilities to serve their domestic political needs.
"These attempts will never succeed," Guo added.

The press conference took place one day before the opening of the annual national session of the CPPCC when over 2,000 members will discuss various issues and present advice to the government departments.
Guo said despite all the changes the global pandemic has brought to the international community, China will stick to its foreign policies.
"China's opening policy will not change," he said. "China's ideas of peaceful development and win-win cooperation will not change."
