He said he hoped "the mood of lasting peace and co-prosperity" created by Pope Francis' recent visit to the United Arab Emirates would spread to the Korean peninsula.

"Today is very significant for the peace and prosperity of the Korean Peninsula as it is the day of the second US-North Korea summit. Crown Prince (Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan) successfully invited the pope for the first time to visit the countries in the Arabian peninsula earlier this month and delivered a message to the world for prosperity, harmony and co-existence. We hope that the mood of lasting peace and co-prosperity spreads in the Korean Peninsula with the visit of the crown prince, said Moon.
