Islamabad: Hours after Indian Air Force (IAF) carried out air strikes on the terror camps across the Line of Control (LoC), Pakistan President Arif Alvi condemned New Delhi's move and threatened India of an appropriate response.

Addressing an international conference on media and conflict on Tuesday Alvi said, "We are a people protected by our armed forces. We know how to protect our nation."

"We don't have any bad intention to any other country. But we know how to defend ourselves and we will."

"They (India) have carried out an aggression against Pakistan today. This is a violation of the Line of Control and I consider it to be just that. Pakistan reserves the right for an appropriate response and the right to self-defence," he added.

Earlier Tuesday Pakistan's military spokesman tweeted that Indian aircraft crossed into Pakistan and then "released payload in haste."

Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi also condemned Tuesday's attack calling it a "violation of control."

Tensions have soared between India and Pakistan since the Pulwama terror attack which claimed lives of 40 CRPF jawans.

The terror attack is considered as the one of the most deadliest ever since the Kashmir insurgency erupted in 1989.

Pakistan has insisted it had nothing to do with the attack, but has vowed to respond to any Indian military operation against it.
