Pakistan will keep acting against terrorism: Imran

Bishkek:While PM Modi makes a strong case against terrorism in the SCO summit and attacked Pakistan in a nuanced way, Pak PM Imran Khan said in his speech that Pakistan will remain actively engaged in SCO's counter-terrorism initiatives.

Khan further claimed that his country has turned the tide against terrorism while offering to share its experience and expertise in counter terrorism, reports The Dawn.

Pak PM also admitted the threats from terrorism. But it was not terrorism that Khan tried to highlight unlike Modi, his main thrust was to project Pakistan as an investment destination. Pakistan is now reeling under a dire economic situation and to improve the country's economy remains Khan's first priority and challenge. Pakistan recently received a huge sum from international agencies to help it tide over the crisis albeit for the short term. But Khan realises that Pakistan needs more than bail-out packages. He believes that foreign investments will turn around the worsening situation.

Thus in a bid to attract investments, Imran Khan spoke of Pakistan's skilled human assets, natural resources and IT infrastructure. He also heaped praises on China regarding the Belt and Road Initiative which he said is transforming Pakistan making it all the more lucrative for foreign investments.
