Tehran:After the US withdrawal, Iran is all set to break the uranium enrichment limit which was defined by the 2015 nuclear deal as a response to lack of action by Europe to keep the agreement alive.
In video posted on the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader's website, Ali Akbar Velayati said that Iran was set to break the limit on uranium enrichment defined the nuclear deal starting from Sunday, July 7.
Velayati went on to add that as of now Tehran has no plan to withdraw from the accord and will take its next steps consistent with what action the other party would take.
Iran to step up enrichment, says Khamenei's aide Iran's president warned last Wednesday that Tehran will increase its enrichment of uranium to "any amount that we want" beginning on Sunday, putting further pressure on European nations to save its faltering nuclear deal and offer a way around intense US sanctions.
Rouhani's threat, combined with Iran surpassing the stockpile limits of the 2015 atomic accord, could narrow the estimated one-year window it would need to produce enough material for a nuclear weapon, something Iran denies it wants but the deal sought to prevent.
But as tensions rise a year after US President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew America from the deal, it looks unlikely that Europe can offer Iran a way to sell its oil on the global market despite US sanctions.
