Tehran:Following an order from the country's National Security Council, Iran has officially halted some of its commitments with world powers under 2015 nuclear deal.
Under the 2015 nucler deal, Iran was allowed to produce maximum 300 kg of low-enriched uranium and maximum 130 tonnes of heavy water. However, with the latest decision of Iran now there will be no limit for the country to produce enriched uranium and heavy water and it can sale the surplus to other countries.
"Stopping programs related to compliance with the ceiling for production of enriched uranium as well as the unlimited production of heavy water at the Arak facility are programs seriously pursued as stressed during the first 60-day period related to Iran's first step in response to the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal," an official from the Atomic Energy Organisation of Iran (AEOI) said.
