Hyderabad: A successful maiden flight of Flying-V was conducted by the researchers. It is a fuel-efficient plane which is capable of carrying passengers in its wings.
The plane has a unique design which has placed the passenger cabin, the cargo hold and the fuel tank in the wing. According to the experts, the aerodynamic shape of the plane will lessen the fuel consumption by 20 per cent.
Experts experimented a 22.5 kg and 3-meter scale model, jointly refined by the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands and Dutch airline KLM, to take to its next developmental steps.
