Hyderabad: Spending more time with better halves is backfiring in China as the number of divorce cases in the country are on the rise ever since people are advised for quarantine following outbreak of COVID-19.
According to media reports, Beijing reported a sharp rise in divorce cases as couple are 'forced to spend much time together at home' during the quarantine.
Register offices witnessed an increase in divorce applications with one centre receiving over 300 pleas since February 24, Mail Today reported quoting Lu Shijun, manager of a marriage registry in Dazhou, Sichuan Province of south-western China.
Similarly, marriage registration offices in north-western China's Shaanxi Province also registered a spike in divorce appointments since re-opening on March 1.
