Disturbed Pakistan expels Indian envoy, suspends bilateral trade

The decision was taken at a crucial meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC) in Islamabad chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan and attended by top civil and military leadership.

Islamabad: Disturbed by India's move to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, debt-ridden Pakistan on Wednesday expelled Indian envoy and decided to suspend bilateral trade with New Delhi, media reported.

It has also decided not to send its High Commissioner designate to India who was to take charge later this month.

It is also believed that Imran Khan government may also ask Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria to leave the country downgrading diplomatic relations.

The Indian government on Monday abolished Article 370 of the Constitution that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two Union Territories -- Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh.
