Cruise ship docks in Fremantle after denied entry in Asia

Fremantle: The cruise ship MS Amsterdam docked in Fremantle on Saturday night, after being denied entry at several ports in Asia.

The Government of Western Australia released a statement late on Saturday afternoon confirming all passengers on board the Amsterdam cruise ship 'can disembark should they wish' because the ship 'has been in Australian waters'.

Passengers onboard the ship had been in Australia before they were directed to self-isolate for 14-days, and before the international travel ban to Australia started.

It is not clear how many passengers have disembarked from the Amsterdam, but an Australian government statement said: "Many have chosen to remain on the ship until they can connect to a flight home."
