Coronavirus: The spread of life taking virus in numbers

With fresh 25 deaths, the death toll from the virus mounted to 106 on Tuesday in China. Most of the deaths are reported from central Chinese province of Hubei, which is considered as the epicentre of the outbreak. Out of 3,000 cases in China, 2,714 are reported in Hubei.

Hyderabad: The deadly coronavirus has so far claimed 106 lives and nearly 3,000 have been confirmed ill in China. Moreover, the life taking virus spreading its tentacles far and wide across the globe.

What is coronavirus?

As many as 44 cases of coronavirus reported globally. Here are the places across the world where cases of the fatal virus have been detected:

China

With fresh 25 deaths, the death toll from the virus mounted to 106 on Tuesday in China. Most of the deaths are reported from central Chinese province of Hubei, which is considered as the epicentre of the outbreak. Out of 3,000 cases in China, 2,714 are reported in Hubei.

Thailand

Thailand health authorities have confirmed 14 cases of coronavirus infection. Among the infected, four are Chinese nationals and a 73-year-old Thai woman.

Hong Kong

By Tuesday, Hong Kong has reported eight cases of the novel coronavirus. Following the outbreak, the city has declared an emergency, with schools closed till February 17.

United States

The United States has confirmed five cases related to the outbreak of coronavirus. On last Tuesday, Washington reported the first case of the virus when a man in his 30s from Seattle tested positive with the virus. The US health officials on Monday issued a new travel advisory urging people to avoid nonessential visit to China.

While Taiwan, Australia and Macau have recorded five cases associated with coronavirus, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia each have reported four.

Three cases have been reported in France whereas Canada and Vietnam have registered two cases each.

Nepal, Cambodia and Germany each have one. There have been no deaths due to the virus in other countries except China.
