Wellington:New Zealand police have officially charged Brenton Tarrant, the man behind the Christchurch mosque shooting, with terrorism on Tuesday, reports BBC .
Tarrant was responsible for the attack on the two mosques in Christchurch that took place on March 15.
He is already facing charges of murder and 40 of attempted murder following the attack on two mosques.
The target shooting killed 51 faithfuls attending the mosque service and caused worldwide outrage. It also brought the New Zealand PM Jesica Arden into global limelight for her exemplary handling of the situation and the show of empathy.
