Moscow:Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Friday said that Beijing and New Delhi have a responsibility to keep the dialogue and both should withdraw personnel and equipment completely from the frontline.
Wang Yi said, "The top priority now is not to break our promises and not to open fire. This is our agreement reached a long time ago. Opening fire is not allowed because it will lead to a bad ending. Also, we should withdraw personnel and equipment completely from the frontline. In this way, we can implement the consensus and restore peace and stability along the border."
"China-India relations have been widely concerned. Russia did provide us a dialogue platform through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. I also kept communication with Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar through phone calls, including with India National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Doval and I are both special representatives of border issues. We have the responsibility to keep dialogue," he added.
India and China are engaged in a four-month-long standoff at the LAC in Eastern Ladakh. Despite several levels of dialogue, there hasn't been any breakthrough and the deadlock continues.
