Car bomb kills 2, injures 26 in east Afghanistan

Among the 26 injured people, there are 20 children and 6 security force members. Though the Taliban and Islamic State group are active in eastern Afghanistan, no one has claimed responsibility yet for the attack.

Laghman: At least two security officers were killed when a car bomb detonated near a district headquarters in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan on Wednesday.

A spokesman for the provincial governor Asadullah Dawlatzai said that 26 people including 20 children and six security force members were wounded in this attack.

A car bomb blast near a district headquarters in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan on Wednesday killed 2 and injured 26.

The wounded children were inside a nearby mosque where they were studying the Quran, he said.

It wasn't clear yet if the attack was a suicide bombing or not, but the investigation is ongoing, he assured.

No one immediately claimed responsibility for this attack.

Both the Taliban and Islamic State group are active in eastern Afghanistan and have claimed pervious attacks in the region.
