Multiple blasts at Russian explosives factory injure 38

Moscow: At least 38 people were injured in multiple blasts at an explosives factory in western Russia on Saturday.

The incident took place at the "Kristall" factory in Dzerzhinsk city of Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region.

The high-intensity blast left some seriously injured, while some sustained "medium" to "light" injuries, as per a source quoted by Interfax news agency.

Nobody was killed in the blast, the source said.

The explosions led to the collapse of one of the warehouses at the factory, located some 800 km east of Moscow, as per a preliminary investigation report.

The incident reportedly took place following a violation of safety regulations while manufacturing munitions.

The Kristall plant in Dzerzhinsk has been manufacturing munitions for over 60 years.
