In Myanmar, the majority of Buddhist and Hindu communities have been victims of violence in past. So far, more than 70,000 Rohingyas have taken shelter in Bangladesh.
Before leaving for New Delhi the External Affairs Minister Abdul Momin told reporters, "We can not take in more refugees anymore. The border with Myanmar has been almost completely closed now."
Momin is coming to India on his first foreign visit.
The External Affairs Minister said that Bangladesh has given shelter to many refugees by opening its boundaries, now it is time that other countries also open their boundaries for the same.
Mohammad Kamruzzmama, the police chief of the frontier Bandarban district, said that 38 families, including most Buddhist families, entered into the Bangladesh border overnight, in view of 'internal conflict' in Myanmar.
