Winter storm hits Seattle, leaving icy roads

Seattle: Western Washington state is being hit by a major winter storm, with several inches of snow, cold temperatures and bone-chilling winds.

Numerous school districts have closed for the day, including Seattle, Everett, Bellevue and Tacoma.

Cars in Seattle's neighborhood were being abandoned by drivers because of icy conditions.

Sea-Tac Airport saw 3 inches of snow by 5:30 am Planes were being deiced before takeoff, but delays have been minimal so far.

Snow is expected to continue to fall into the mid-morning hours then taper off.
