New York: A New York nurse has detailed the challenges nurses face daily in the fight to save patients infected with the coronavirus.
Lyn Viray, herself a COVID-19 survivor, who works in the intensive care unit at Mount Sinai West hospital in New York.
NY nurse details challenges working in ICU She has been working in Mount Sinai for 19 years. She is a mother of a young son whom she hasn't seen "for weeks at a time during this pandemic."
Viray was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March and received treatment.
After recovering she returned to work and described the difficult conditions faced by her colleagues.
"After I was well enough to come back, it was like a war zone coming into the ICU," Viray said.
The new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms for most people.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness or death.
