Washington: US President Donald Trump said on Sunday he is looking forward to this week's summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Vietnam, saying there is "a chance to do something very, very special".

The 2nd Trump-Kim summit will be held on February 27 and 28

Speaking at the Governors' Ball at the White House, Trump said he and Kim had a "very, very good relationship", adding they were "seeing eye-to-eye".

The summit will be held in the capital Hanoi or the seaside city of Danang on February 27 and 28.

The first summit known as the Singapore summit was held in June last year where Trump and Kim had signed a pledge on denuclearisation, since then the nuclear talks have reached nowhere.

During the Singapore summit both the leaders signed an agreement agreeing on four things -

  • Normalise and boost the ties between the US and North Korea.
  • Formally end the 1950-53 Koran War.
  • Return the US war remains.
  • Work towards the complete denuclearisation of the Koran Peninsula.

But, due to some reasons the talks stalled for almost a year and now the 2nd summit is believed to help in reaching a interim deal.
