Though President Trump did not give any update about when or where the meeting would be held, he sounded very confident and firm that this time they might make a good deal.
Acknowledging the US intelligence chief's comment that Kim Jong Un would not give up his country's nuclear weapon program, Trump said, "There's a good possibility of that too. But there's also a very good chance that we will make a deal. I think he's also tired of going through what he's going through. He has a chance to have North Korea be a tremendous economic behemoth. It has a chance to be one of the great economic countries in the world."
When questioned about the plans to remove US troops from South Korea he said that till now he has no such plans and that he has not even discussed removing them.

The first summit between the two leaders was held last year on June 12 in Singapore. The summit witnessed the signing of the joint declaration according to which both the leaders agreed on four things:
- Normalize and boost the ties between the US and North Korea.
- Formally end the 1950-53 Korean War.
- Return the US war remains.
- Work towards the complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.
- What happened after the Singapore Summit?
Immediately after the summit Trump announced that the US military would discontinue its joint military exercises with South Korea and also announced that he would bring back US soldiers at some point of time.
On the other hand, North Korea released around 55 sets of remains of US soldiers killed in the Korean War. Kim also refrained from nuclear tests.
- Why the talks stalled?
The things went wrong on some parts, like the US was unhappy as North Korea had sent only 55 sets of remains of US troops killed in Korean War, but still thousands of other were not sent.
