The 125-year-old Church was reduced to nothing more than ashes. The parish has served the faithful of southwestern Falls County, many of them were immigrants from the northwest German region of Westphalia, since 1883.

A prayer group will be held at the church's parking lot as members begin to come in terms with the loss.

The church building dated to 1895 and was said to be the largest all-wood church in the state.

The church received the Texas Historical Marker in December 1978 and on May 1996 the church and the surrounding areas were included in the National Register of Historic Places.
