New York: Families of victims of police brutality and their supporters held a protest rally in New York City on Tuesday.
Hundreds of people joined a more than a dozen families affected by police violence at the rally to demand the immediate defunding of the New York Police Department.
Speakers called for police accountability and transparency spurred by the national uproar over the death of George Floyd.
The rally was followed by a march through city streets as New York lawmakers strive for a new era of police accountability.
