Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated Joe Biden on his inauguration as the 46th President of the United States of America.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Joe Biden on becoming the 46th President of the United States on Wednesday.

"I look forward to working with you to further strengthen the US-Israel alliance, to continue expanding peace between Israel and the Arab world and to confront common challenges, chief among them the threat posed by Iran," Netanyahu told Biden in a video message.

Biden has pledged a more even-handed approach to the Middle East conflict in which he will restore aid to the Palestinians and work to revive peace negotiations.

Netanyahu's stance on settlement construction and Iran's nuclear program are likely to put him at odds with the new Biden administration.

Donald Trump's administration provided unprecedented support to Israel, including abandoning a longstanding U.S. policy of opposing settlements.

French President Emmanuel Macron congratulated US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris following their inauguration Wednesday.

In a tweet, Macron said, "we will be stronger to face the challenges of our time."

He welcomed Biden's pledge to rejoin the Paris climate agreement.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday congratulated Joe Biden and Kamala Harris and spoke of the "fantastically joint common agenda" of his government and the new US  administration that unites the two leaders.

Johnson said the US had been through a "bumpy period" but said the advent of the Biden administration was "a fantastic thing for America".

He also spoke of joint objectives of the UK and US including recovering from the coronavirus pandemic and combating climate change.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Joe Biden for being sworn in as the President of the United States. PM Modi also congratulated Kamala Harris on being sworn in as the US Vice President. The PM said that he was committed to working with the new administration to make further strengthen the India-US partnership.
