16 prisoners killed, 5 injured in jail fight in Mexico

Zacatecas: An altercation in the Regional center of social reintegration in the northern Mexican state of Zacatecas has left 16 inmates killed and five others injured, the local public security ministry said on Wednesday.

"A joint intervention at about 5 p.m. stropped the prisoners' clashes. As a result of the incident, 15 people were killed on the spot and six others were taken to a hospital where one of them later died," the ministry said on Twitter.
