Chinese doctors fight cholera outbreak in Beira

Chinese doctors were sent to Mozambique to fight cholera outbreak in Beira. The cholera cases have increased to more than 271 among survivors of Cyclone Idai.

Beira: The Chinese government has sent a group of doctors to help Mozambique fight the cholera outbreak in the northern city of Beira.

Cholera cases among survivors of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique have jumped to more than 271.

The World Health Organization has said some 900,000 cholera vaccine doses are expected to arrive on Monday, with a vaccination campaign starting later in the week.

Cyclone Idai, which stuck March 14, destroyed more than 50 health care clinics in central Mozambique.
