According to the report of the national emergency service, 11 newborns, 37 mothers and 28 employees were evacuated after the blaze broke out at 4 a.m.
Three babies died of burns and five of asphyxiation, it added.
The country's health minister assured an investigation to look into whether the blaze was caused by a defective anti-mosquito device.
