Hyderabad: After much conjecture and public spotting, Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra and Aam Admi Party leader Raghav Chadha are going to get engaged on May 13 in a private yet royal engagement ceremony in Delhi. According to reports, her cousin sister, global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas, would be coming down to Delhi all the way from the US for the festivities. The couple will tie the knot in a traditional ceremony at Kapurthala House near Connaught Place.
According to sources, Priyanka will arrive in Delhi on the morning of May 13th. "Priyanka will have a short stay. She has put her work on hold in order to be there for the occasion and for her sister. Her husband, Nick Jonas, is not expected to accompany her, and it is unclear whether she will bring her daughter Malti," the insider said.
Fashion designer Manish Malhotra will also be in attendance at the engagement ceremony. In fact, Parineeti will be dressed in a subtle Indian attire fashioned by the couturier. The couple is expected to wear color-coordinated ensembles. Raghav will be seen in a simple achkan made by his maternal uncle, fashion designer Pawan Sachdeva.
Parineeti is currently in Delhi with her family, overseeing the preparations for the occasion. "They are not trying to keep the engagement a secret, but they do want to keep it intimate with only family and close friends in attendance. It's a special moment for the couple, and they want to start the new chapter with their close family in attendance," the insider added.
It will be a complete Punjabi affair with pastel hues. "The wedding will be in Punjabi style, complete with naach, gaana, and dhoom. The pastel tone of their engagement also resonates with their personalities. The guests have been notified and are expected to follow suit," quipped the insider.
Parineeti fueled relationship rumours earlier this year when she was spotted with politician Chadha in Mumbai quite frequently. It was followed by other appearances together like dining together to dropping and receiving at Mumbai and Delhi airports, the most recent of which was at Mohali Cricket Stadium, where they watched an IPL match together, leading fans to believe that they are indeed dating.
