Hyderabad:Yash Chopra's widow and well-known playback singer Pamela Chopra passed away in Mumbai on Thursday, as informed by the Chopra family, who shared a heartfelt note on the YRF's official Instagram page. She was 74. The family needs privacy "in this moment of deep sadness and reflection," read the statement from Yash Raj Films.
As soon as the word spread, condolences from the film community began to pour in. Javed Akhtar paid tribute to Pamela Chopra on Twitter. "Pam ji, Shri Yash Chopra's better half, passed away today. She was a wonderful lady. Warm, witty, well-educated, and intelligent. She played a significant role in Yash Ji's scripts and music, as I have experienced firsthand. She was a unique individual," he wrote.
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn paid tribute to Pam Aunty, as she was affectionately known, and said, "My thoughts and prayers are with Adi, Rani, Uday, and all members of the Chopra family at this time. RIP, much-loved Pam Chopra, Ji Shanti." Meanwhile, Yash Raj Films' official Instagram account posted a personal message informing followers and well-wishers of Pamela Chopra's passing. Pamela Chopra was the late Yash Raj Chopra's wife.

Her cremation took place in Mumbai today at 11 a.m. The family would like to ask for privacy during this time of profound sadness and introspection. We appreciate your prayers." Bollywood was shocked and grieved by Pamela's passing, and numerous actors, actresses, producers, directors, composers, and others shared their condolences.
