Here’s to your gumption and positivity: Shilpa Shetty drops trailer of hubby Raj Kundra's biopic UT 69

Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty unveiled the trailer of UT 69 on her official Instagram handle. The film is based on her husband Raj Kundra's life revolving around his time in jail.

Hyderabad:The much-anticipated trailer of UT 69 was unveiled today on October 18. Taking to Instagram, Shilpa Shetty dropped the trailer, billed as his husband Raj Kundra's biography. It also marks the businessman's acting debut and follows him while he spends around two months in jail in 2021.

For the uninitiated, Shilpa Shetty's husband was detained and identified as a main defendant in a case involving pornographic films back in July 2021. In September of same year, he was placed in judicial detention and then released on bail. Sharing the trailer, Shilpa wrote: "All the best, Cookie ♥️🧿 You’re a brave man… that’s what I admire the most about you! Here’s to your gumption and positivity!♥️👏🏽🤗 @onlyrajkundra"

Raj Kundra, who has maintained a low profile for a while now, made his first public appearance in front of the media at the trailer launch. The "Maskman Raj Kundra" face reveal is expected to be a turning point in the buildup to the movie's premiere. Raj at the trailer launch shared that Shilpa's immediate response wasn't quite polite.

He said, "She initially seemed to find the concept a little dubious, I believe. Perhaps she believed that the movie wouldn't be made. So I told Shahnawaz (director Shahnawaz Ali) to go and explain it to her. He only gave her a brief narration. When she gave it some thought, she understood that it had nothing to do with a case against the system."

Raj further said, " It was, in her opinion, a really human narrative." He further revealed that Shilpa was concerned about him making his acting debut in the movie as well. But that ultimately, she changed her mind and was extremely encouraging.
