Ayushmann Khurrana to be honoured by his alma mater in Chandigarh

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana will be travelling to Chandigarh for a special occasion. The actor will be felicitated by his alma mater, Panjab University, in the coming days.

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana will soon be visiting his hometown in Chandigarh for a special reason. The Bala actor will be felicitated by his alma mater, Panjab University, in the next few days. Speaking about it, Ayushmann said, "There have been validations in the past from the TIME magazine, Forbes and also the prestigious National Award, but it's most special when your alma mater acknowledges your achievements!"

"While studying at Panjab University, I was astonished to learn about many seniors who had become national icons and made the state and country proud. It was a great honour to have studied at this prestigious institution, mentored by brilliant teachers. I was guided, shaped, and empowered to take on the world on my own terms by this institution that set the foundation stone for who I'm today. I had secretly wished then that I would try and emulate the feat of my seniors and make my alma mater proud one day," he added.

On the movie front, Ayushmann will next be seen in Dream Girl 2, the sequel to his blockbuster Dream Girl, helmed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. It is set to hit the theatres on August 25. Earlier, it was supposed to be released in July. The delay is due to the extensive VFX work required for the movie. The VFX work is crucial for Dream Girl 2, as the movie stars Ayushmann Khurrana portraying the role of Pooja and Karam. The team doesn't want to leave any stone unturned to ensure he looks seamless and convincing as Pooja.

Speaking about the decision, Ektaa R Kapoor, Joint Managing Director - Balaji Telefilms Limited, said. "We want Ayushmann Khurrana's character to look perfect as Pooja in Dream Girl 2, and that's why we are taking extra time to perfect the VFX work for the face. We want to ensure that our viewers get the best possible experience when they watch the movie. The VFX work for Dream Girl 2 is an integral part of the movie, and we want to ensure that we deliver a high-quality product to our audiences."
