Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala): Kerala Assembly Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan who had been admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, has now been shifted to the ICU.
A special medical board has been constituted to treat the speaker as he is down with pneumonia. Meanwhile, the medical college authorities have stated the health condition of the speaker is satisfactory.

It is known that the Kerala Assembly Speaker and CPI(M) leader P Sreeramakrishnan's involvement in the gold smuggling case was alleged by the key accused Swapna Suresh.
As per the statement released earlier, Swapna alleged the Speaker of having made an investment in Oman and that he plans to do the same in Sharjah. A statement from another key accused, Sarith, alleged that the speaker had given a huge sum to the UAE Consulate General.

In his reaction, Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan had said that the alleged ‘statements’ being released by the media are all baseless and misleading, adding that the central investigation agencies release much information with vested political interests and don the role of election campaigners themselves.
