Honest salesman reaps rich in Surat!

A salesman, working at a saree showroom near Umra locality in Surat was rewarded handsomely for his honesty. He had returned an unattended bag containing Rs 10 lakh to the police officials. Later, it was presented with a reward of Rs 2 lakh by the bag's owner.

Dilip Poddar, who had returned an unattended bag containing Rs 10 lakh to the police officials, was presented with a reward of Rs 2 lakh by the bag's owner.

The incident happened when Poddar was returning to duty, after having lunch on Friday. He then noticed a bag lying unattended on the roadside and was reportedly shocked to see wads of Rs 2000 notes.

"As I was returning to the showroom, I noticed a bag lying near the garbage bin. When I checked it, there were wads of Rs 2000 notes. I kept waiting for minutes, for the owner to come searching for the bag. After no one approached for the bag, I had informed the police," said Poddar.

The owner of the bag was traced through CCTV footages installed in the area and thereafter the bag was handed over to the owner.
