Novel initiative by Gujarat's first Novel COVID-19 patient

Nadeem Sevangia, who was the first to test positive for COVID-19 in Gujarat, in a novel initiative is providing free drinking water to all COVID-positive patients and their relatives in the premises of Rajkot civil hospital. He is also asking them not to be afraid and that one can overcome COVID-19 by following all precautions.

Rajkot (Gujarat): Nadeem Sevangia, who hails from Gujarat's Rajkot, was the first person to test positive for COVID-19 during the first wave of the pandemic. He was then admitted to the civil hospital for 17 days while his family members were placed in quarantine.

At present, during the second wave, the pandemic has become more widespread and deadly. In such trying times, this young man is serving drinking water free of cost to the relatives of the COVID patients admitted to the civil hospital.

Talking to ETV Bharat, Nadeem said that the patients who have fallen prey in the second wave are in a more critical condition than those in the first wave. He has appealed to relatives of the patients to follow the COVID guidelines. He added that COVID-19 infected person should remain confined in their homes.

Nadeem and his friends are providing free drinking water to the patients and their relatives outside the civil hospital and have been reassuring the patients not to be scared of the pandemic but follow necessary precautions.

Nadeem, who had returned to Rajkot having visited Saudi Arabia, had tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to the Rajkot Civil Hospital back then. During that period, Nadeem and his family members were extremely worried and mentally depressed.
