Patna (Bihar):Lalu Prasad Yadav, the former Bihar CM and Rashtriya Janata Dal supremo, has been in Delhi since his release from jail on bail. According to well-informed sources, the 73-yr old is likely to return to Bihar next month.

Tejashwi Yadav had said that Lalu Prasad would return to active politics in Bihar. "He is just meeting family members. He is yet to fully recover. Lalu Ji is the hope of the poor. His life has been a struggle. Millions are his admirers. Everyone wants him to get well soon and return to active politics. The country needs him. Only Lalu Ji can challenge the communal forces," he said. Following the announcement, the political atmosphere in the state has intensified.

Prior to his visit to Bihar, on July 5, Lalu Yadav will attend RJD's foundation day celebrations virtually from Delhi. At present, the RJD chief is staying at the official residence of his daughter Misa Bharti in New Delhi.

"After coming to Patna, Lalu's biggest challenge will be to keep the Grand Alliance united with his party and avoid any possible break in the Congress. It's quite impossible to expect Lalu Yadav to remain active in Bihar politics without any upheaval. After coming to Bihar, Lalu will definitely make political bets and all possibilities can be considered," says Political Analyst Dr Sanjay Kumar.

"Lalu Prasad is the president of the largest political party of Bihar. His party has the maximum number of MLAs in the assembly. He has worked as the Chief Minister and Union Minister of the state for many years. An experienced leader playing an active role in Bihar politics will definitely have an impact," Congress leader Prem Chandra Mishra said.

"Lalu is no less than a messiah for the socially and economically backward people. His return is very comforting and encouraging for us. Only the presence of Lalu Yadav will help keep the Grand Alliance united," says RJD Leader Shyam Razak.'

Following Lalu Prasad Yadav's return, his primary initiative would be to unite the leaders and workers of RJD, to prepare a political pitch against the government, averting a possible breakdown within the Congress, chalk out a political strategy for 2024-25 and to take advantage of the souring relations between JDU-BJP.
