Muzaffarpur (Bihar): A complaint has been filed in the Muzaffarpur court on Thursday against farmer leader, politician and spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union Rakesh Tikait, who has openly opposed the three new agricultural laws.

Advocate Sudhir Ojha had filed the case against Rakesh Tikait under Sections 504, 506, 153a, 153b and 160 of the IPC.

"Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait openly threatened during the mahapanchayat of farmers in Rajasthan, that if the government does not withdraw the new agricultural laws, people in 16 states will be deprived of electricity," Advocate Sudhir Ojha said, adding that Tikait's words worried him and hence decided to file a case against him.

The court has fixed the date of April 8 for a hearing in the case.
