Ratnagiri (Maharastra):Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday ordered a probe into Maharashtra's Tewari Dam breach incident which claimed six lives and left several others injured.

Meanwhile, Fadnavis also held talks with the Ratnagiri collector and other officials to take stock of the situation.

However, Fadnavis has also asked his Water Resources & Irrigation Minister Girish Mahajan to visit Ratnagiri and provide relief to affected families.

The Tiware dam in Chiplun taluka of Ratnagiri district has a storage capacity of 20 lakh cubic metre. According to the local public representatives, the government neglected their pleas for maintenance of the dam.
