Lucknow:During the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids at various locations in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, two separate FIRs have been registered related to illegal sand mining case.
The CBI conducted raids at 12 locations, including Bulandshahr, Lucknow, Fatehpur, Azamgarh, Allahabad, Noida, Gorakhpur, and Deoria.
CBI had filed an FIR earlier this year, in which several bureaucrats and politicians names were registered.
One of the FIRs has been registered against Abhay, the former District Magistrate of Fatehpur, and former mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, among others.
Another FIR has been registered against Vivek, former District Magistrate, Deoria and eight other including the former Additional District magistrate, Deoria and three public servants.
According to the sources, the agency recovered cash worth Rs 47 lakhs from Chief Development Officer Devi Sharan Upadhyay's residence and some documents related to properties from the premises od Director of Training and Employment, Vivek.
The search went on for over two hours at Abhay's house and, Abhay was the District Magistrate at Fatehpur district and Upadhyay and Vivek were the additional District Magistrate and District Magistrate of Deoria city in Uttar Pradesh respectively.
