Abductee's family gets ransom call from Pak, pays money to Indian

A family in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad got a ransom call from Pakistan after their 13-year-old was kidnapped on February 10. Family members had appealed on social media to help find their missing son. Abductee was released by the kidnappers on February 15.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, a family in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad got a ransom call from Pakistan after their 13-year-old was kidnapped on February 10.

According to reports, the victim's family members had appealed on social media to help find their missing son. After seeing the post that went viral on the internet, some Pakistani recalcitrants made fake ransom calls through Skype to the victim's family and demanded one crore rupees to release their son.

A day later, the family got a second ransom call from another kidnapper who demanded two crore from them. The boy's parents, however, paid the ransom to the second caller. They avoided informing the matter to the police for safety of their son who was released by the kidnappers on February 15.

But local police was tipped off by its informer following which trap was laid abductors were arrested.

SP city Shlok Kumar said such incident has happened for the first time in Ghaziabad. The fake ransom calls were placed through the internet and one originated from Pakistan.
