Nayan Vaishnav has claimed that constant chanting of ‘mahamrityunjaya mantra’ in the 'raag maalkaunsa’ increases the immunity of a person and one can even win over the pandemic.

In ancient India, music used to control many diseases and it was also practised widely. But over time, music therapy faded away and is now on the verge of extinction.

He underlined the need to chant the 'mahamrityunjaya mantra' in the 'raaga maalkauns' and expressed the confidence that this would help people to survive in the present coronavirus crisis.

Music therapy uses music to promote healing and enhance the quality of life. It's a complementary therapy that is used along with many diseases to help patients cope mentally and physically with their diagnosis. Music therapy may involve listening to music, creating music, singing, and discussing music, in addition to guided imagery with music.

Earlier, it was reported that the COVID-19 frontline warriors, including doctors and police personnel who go through exhausting work schedules stretching up to 12 hours a day, many of them are finding music therapy a tool to ease their stress levels.

Music triggers most parts of the brain and reduces anxiety and modifies stress response and activates the relaxation response whereas the claims are done by the Nayan Vaishnav yet to be proved scientifically.
